Gate Keypad Installation

Security and access control go hand in hand.  Safely accessing your property without any stress or drama is what we provide our customers!

In this video, Jason Cornell our owner and head locksmith, has installed a gate keypad to an existing entrance gate at a Lake Norman home.  This particular gate previously had a cumbersome garage door style system for access control.  This left the homeowners uncomfortable so they sought our help to secure the access point.

Notice that Jason turned the camera away from the keypad as he captured this video.  Every aspect of our client’s privacy and security is taken into consideration; from a simple video shoot to a major security installation, we keep the things you treasure most safe.

Gate keypads are an item we keep in stock and we can order almost any keypad available, we can help you choose the best keypad for your needs.  Making certain you are secure without any sales pressure, that’s Anchor Security & Locksmith!

The keypad Jason installed has a “Guest Code” option, the homeowner can easily set a unique code and share it with the landscaper, maid or a contractor, and the guest simply enters their code for access to the property.  Upon completion, the guest enters their unique code and the gate closes behind them, securing the property once again.

If your home’s current entry points have you feeling less then secure, call us for a free inspection and quote.  Being proactive now can save a lot of stress later.

Avoiding a Break-In

Avoid a Break In
Avoid a Break In

Home intrusion is a scary thought, for those that have witnessed it firsthand, they know the anxiety and stress that lingers long after the episode is over.  Avoiding a home intrusion can be as easy as making your home less attractive for a break-in.  A good example is outdoor lighting, intruders use the dark of night to mask their malicious deeds, and outdoor lighting will easily encourage an intruder to select a darker dwelling.

Thieves are in and out of a home in less than 6 minutes, anything you can do to slow them down or prevent them from getting in completely, can make all the difference.  Here are some tips that may help you avoid a break-in at your home.

  1. Get a dog: The barking of a dog (especially a big one) will quickly have a thief reconsidering his decision to try and enter your home.  Remember, they want in and out quickly, without drawing any attention.
  2. Patio doors: Glass doors make too much noise to break, so make certain the glass patio door is secure enough to discourage the intruder.  A stick in the floor track works well for this tip
  3. Landscaping: A well placed holly bush (under a window) will greatly deter any thief from attempting to enter that access point.  Don’t forget the landscape lighting as well.
  4. Locks: Make sure all 1st level doors and windows have quality locks, deadbolts and hinges and always lock them when you’re not home.  This may sound simple, but many people forget to check that their home is secure as they exit.
  5. Hide your valuables: Keeping your valuable possessions away from eyesight from the outside of your home helps a lot.  Don’t advertise your gun collection and always close the blinds when you leave.
  6. Social Media: Never promote that your home is empty for a week.  The pictures of you at the beach can wait until you return home.  “Checking In” at restaurants and businesses while on vacation is also discouraged.

Don’t forget we offer a FREE Security Inspection for any Lake Norman area business or residence.

Security Inspections

Security Inspections

Things change in our lives almost every day it seems.  Technology is flying out of control with crazy/cool products that enable us to do things previously unimaginable.  As these incredible products enhance our lives, crazy/cool technology is being developed for the “Bad Guys” too.  Everything is a “double edged sword” inasmuch as it will benefit some and not others.  The security industry is aware of the advancing negatives and we remain on constant alert for possible threats and ways to address and prevent them.

Our best method of “Security Precaution” is an inspection.  We offer security inspections to customers in our service area of Lake Norman free of charge.  If you have rental property, a business complex or simply a residence, we will schedule a time to visit your location and do a walk thru assessment of your property.  Every inspection comes with a report on your strengths and weaknesses along with suggestions on how to improve your security measures.

We evaluate all access controls, from entry points to exit points and anything that could possibly factor into an unauthorized intrusion.  Working in the security industry provides us with skills and experiences that allow a deeper view into access points and potential threats.  All building components and infrastructures will be evaluated during our assessment, including mechanical and electrical equipment.  Property damage and costly repairs can be avoided with quality access control; therefore we evaluate and report on both the exterior and interior aspects of your property.

Call our showroom for more information on our FREE Security Inspection Program, we will be happy to describe an assessment in detail and schedule an appointment.

We are the Premier Security Professionals serving the Lake Norman area!
